The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;- 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 Of fire fuel-fed, 5 When they sat by it, 6 witnessing what they were doing. 7 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, 8 To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and women without repenting will suffer the torment of hell and that of the burning fire. 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 the Executor of what He wills. 16 Has the story of the armies reached you, 17 Pharaoh and Thamood? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 Nay! This is a Glorious Quran, 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
