The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
