The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The time of reckoning has drawn near for mankind, yet they are heedless and turn away. 1 Whenever a new advice comes to them from their Lord, they do not listen to it except while playing. 2 their hearts are distracted and forgetful. The wrongdoers confer together secretly, saying, "Is not this man a mortal like you? Will you succumb to magic with your eyes open?" 3 Say, "My Lord knows every word spoken in the heavens and on the earth. He is All Hearing, All Knowing." 4 Some say, "These are his confused dreams." Others say, "He has invented it himself," and yet others say, "He is a poet. Let him bring us a sign as previous messengers did." 5 Not one habitation that We destroyed before them had believed. So how can they believe? 6 We never sent (anyone) before you except men to whom We revealed to them. 'Ask the people of the Remembrance if you do not know' 7 And We did not make the prophets forms not eating food, nor were they immortal [on earth]. 8 Then We made good unto them the promise; so We delivered them and those whom We willed, and We destroyed the extravagant. 9 We have indeed sent down towards you a Book, in which is your repute; so do you not have sense? 10
