S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the Qur'an full of admonition. 1 No, the unbelievers exalt in their division. 2 How many generations have We destroyed before them. They called: 'The time is neither of escape, nor safety' 3 It seems strange to the pagans that a man from their own people should come to them as a Prophet. The unbelievers have said, "He is only a lying magician". 4 What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a marvellous thing.' 5 And the Council of them depart, saying 'Go! Be steadfast to your gods; this is a thing to be desired. 6 We have not heard of this in the latest religion. This is not but a fabrication. 7 “Is the Qur’an which is sent to him, among us?” In fact they are in a doubt concerning My Book; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or do they have the depositories of the mercy of your Lord, the Exalted in Might, the Bestower? 9 Or [that] the dominion over the heavens and the earth and all that is between them is theirs? Why, then, let them try to ascend [to God-like power] by all [conceivable] means! 10 The army is defeated as (were) the confederates. 11 Cried lies before them the people of Noah, and Ad, and Pharaoh, he of the tent-pegs, 12 and so did Thamud and the people of Lot and the people of Aykah. These were all leagued together. 13 There was not one of those that did not belie the Messengers. Therefore, My retribution was realized. 14
