Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Woe unto every backbiter, slanderer, 1 who amasses wealth and counts it, 2 Thinking that his wealth would make him last for ever! 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 and what shall teach thee what is the Crusher; 5 The fire of Allah, kindled, 6 Which penetrates the hearts 7 Verily it will close in upon them, 8 In extending columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
