And (as to) those who reject Our communications, We draw them near (to destruction) by degrees from whence they know not. 182 I give them rein (for) lo! My scheme is strong. 183 Do they not reflect that their companion has not unsoundness in mind; he is only a plain warner. 184 Have they not observed the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and all that Allah has created and that their term of life might have drawn near After this warning from the Prophet, what will it be that will make them believe? 185 Those whom Allah sendeth astray, there is no guide for them. He leaveth them to wander blindly on in their contumacy. 186 They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival? Say, "Its knowledge is only with my Lord. None will reveal its time except Him. It lays heavily upon the heavens and the earth. It will not come upon you except unexpectedly." They ask you as if you are familiar with it. Say, "Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most of the people do not know." 187 Tell them [O Muhammad]: 'I have no power to benefit or harm myself except as Allah may please. And had I knowledge of the unseen, I should have amassed all kinds of good, and no evil would have ever touched me. I am merely a warner and the herald of glad tidings to those who have faith.' 188
