Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
