The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 For the exorbitant a receptacle. 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
