Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 In a high Garden. 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
