And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and to whom We had given the luxuries and comforts of this life, said: "He is no more than a human being like you, he eats of that which you eat, and drinks of what you drink. 33 If you obey a mortal like yourselves, then you will be losers. 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead, and become dust and bones, you shall be brought forth? 35 ۞ "Far, very far is that which ye are promised! 36 There exists only our present life: we die and we live [but once], and shall never be raised up again. 37 "He is only a man who has invented a lie against Allah, but we are not going to believe in him." 38 (The prophet) said: "O my Lord! help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood." 39 He replied: 'Before long, by the morning, they shall be remorseful' 40 So the shriek seized them in truth, and We made them as [plant] stubble. Then away with the wrongdoing people. 41 Then after them We raised other generations. 42 No people can hasten on their doom nor can they postpone (it). 43 We then sent our Noble Messengers, one after another; whenever a nation’s Noble Messenger came to it they denied him, We therefore united the succeeding with the old, and made them history; so far removed be the people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear proofs 45 Towards Firaun and his court members – in response they were haughty, and they were in dominance. 46 They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves? And their people are subject to us!" 47 So they cried them lies, and they were among the destroyed. 48 for, indeed, We had vouchsafed revelation unto Moses in order that they might find the right way. 49 And We made Mary's son, and his mother, a Sign, and We gave them refuge on a lofty ground, a peaceful site with springs flowing in it. 50
