Did you (O Muhammad SAW) observe him who turned away (from Islam). 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
