Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 Till an appointed term, 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
