The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
