Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
