The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
