And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; – 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport. 38 We did not create them except in Truth. But most of them do not know. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
