The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
