Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
