The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the runners breathing pantingly, 1 And striking off fire by dashing their hoofs. 2 And the chargers at dawn, 3 Raising clouds of dust, 4 Then penetrate to the centre of the enemy army. 5 The human being is certainly ungrateful to his Lord. 6 And to that fact he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 and surely he loves riches with a passionate loving. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not - when that which is in the graves shall be ransacked? 9 And there shall be brought to light that which is in the breasts? 10 That their Lord had been Well-acquainted with them, (even to) that Day? 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
