Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 Till death overtook us. 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
