Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 Till an appointed term, 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
