The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 a return for the insolent, 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
