Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Indeed We sent Nooh towards his people saying that, “Warn your people before the painful punishment comes upon them.” 1 He said: O my people! verily I am unto you a warner manifest. 2 Worship God, have fear of Him and obey me. 3 so that He may forgive you some of your sins, and grant you respite until a term known [to Him alone]: but, behold, when the term appointed by God does come, it can never be put back - if you but knew it!" 4 He said; 'My Lord, I have called my people by night and by day, 5 But my invitation increased them not except in flight. 6 And whenever I called them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and wrapped them in their garments, and persisted, and waxed very proud. 7 I called to them clearly, 8 and preached to them in public, and also addressed them in secret. 9 "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving; 10 and He will loose heaven upon you in torrents 11 and will aid you with worldly goods and children, and will bestow upon you gardens, and bestow upon you running waters. 12 strengthen you by (providing) you wealth and children, and make gardens and streams for you. What is the matter with you that you are not afraid of the greatness of God 13 While He has created you in (different) stages [i.e. first Nutfah, then 'Alaqah and then Mudghah, see (VV. 23:13, 14) the Quran]. 14 Do you not see how Allah has created seven heavens, one upon the other, 15 ‘And in them, has illuminated the moon, and made the sun a lamp?’ 16 God made you grow from the earth. 17 ‘And He will then take you back to it, and again remove you from it.” 18 how God has spread the earth out for you 19 that thereof you may thread ways, ravines." 20
