In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you wrapped in garments (i.e. Prophet Muhammad SAW)! 1 Rise to pray in the night except a little, 2 It may be half the night or a little less than that 3 Or a little more, and recite the Qur'an slowly and distinctly. 4 For we shall charge thee with a word of weight. 5 Prayer at night leaves the strongest impression on one's soul and the words spoken are more consistent. 6 You are indeed much occupied during the day with the affairs of the world. 7 But recite the name of your Lord withdrawing yourself from everything, devoting yourself exclusively to Him. 8 He is the Lord of the East and the West. There is no god but He. So take Him alone as your protector. 9 Bear patiently with what they say, and ignore them politely. 10 And leave Me Alone to deal with the beliers (those who deny My Verses, etc.), and those who are in possession of good things of life. And give them respite for a little while. 11 We have fetters (for them) and a blazing fire, 12 and food that chokes, and grievous suffering 13 On the Day when the earth and the mountains will be in violent shake, and the mountains will be a heap of sand poured out and flowing down. 14 We have indeed sent a Noble Messenger towards you, a present witness over you – the way We had sent a Noble Messenger towards Firaun. 15 but Pharaoh rebelled against the Messenger, so We seized him remorselessly. 16 So how will you save yourselves, if you disbelieve, on a day that will turn children old? 17 The Day when the heavens will be rent asunder and God's promise shall be fulfilled. 18 Indeed, this is a reminder, so whoever wills may take to his Lord a way. 19
