No, by the moon! 32 By the receding night 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 A warning to mankind, 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
