The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
