Al-Shooraa 4 of 5
And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons much. 30 You cannot thwart Him on the earth, and have no friend or helper apart from Him. 31 And of His signs are the ships that run on the sea like landmarks; 32 and if He wills, He stills the wind, and they remain motionless on its back. Surely in that are signs for every man enduring, thankful. 33 Or He can cause them to perish because of the (evil) which (the men) have earned; but much doth He forgive. 34 And [that is so] those who dispute concerning Our signs may know that for them there is no place of escape. 35 Whatever you have received is only for usage in the life of this world, and that which is with Allah is much better and more lasting - for those who believe and rely upon their Lord. 36 Those who avoid the greater crimes and shameful deeds, and, when they are angry even then forgive; 37 Those who hearken to their Lord, and establish regular Prayer; who (conduct) their affairs by mutual Consultation; who spend out of what We bestow on them for Sustenance; 38 And those who, when great wrong afflicts them, defend themselves. 39 And the recompense of evil is punishment like it, but whoever forgives and amends, he shall have his reward from Allah; surely He does not love the unjust. 40 And whoever defends himself after his being oppressed, these it is against whom there is no way (to blame). 41 Blame lies on those who oppress, and terrorise the land unjustly. For them there is painful punishment. 42 And verily, whosoever shows patience and forgives that would truly be from the things recommended by Allah. 43
