We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, 31 And We chose them, purposely, above (all) creatures. 32 And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial. 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 “There is nothing except our dying just once, and we will not be raised.” 35 Bring back to life our fathers if what you say is true". 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba? And those who were before them? We destroyed them; they were indeed criminals. 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Surely the Day of Decision shall be their appointed time, all together, 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 save him upon whom God has mercy; He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 42
