Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things. 1 He who has created death as well as life, so that He might put you to a test [and thus show] which of you is best in conduct, and [make you realize that] He alone is almighty, truly forgiving. 2 who created seven heavens one upon another. Thou seest not in the creation of the All-merciful any imperfection. Return thy gaze; seest thou any fissure? 3 Then look again and yet again, thy sight will return unto thee weakened and made dim. 4 We have adorned the lowest sky with lamps, and made them missiles against the devils, for whom We have prepared a torment of most intense fire. 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they will be cast thereinto, they will hear thereof a braying even as it boileth up, 7 As if about to explode with rage; whenever a group is thrown into it, the guardians of hell will ask them, “Did not a Herald of Warning come to you?” 8 They will say," Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, 'Allah has not sent down anything. You are not but in great error.'" 9 And they will say, “Had we listened or understood, we would not have been among the people of hell.” 10 So they confess their sins. Curse the inhabitants of the Blaze! 11 As for those who fear their Lord unseen, for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward. 12 And keep your opinion secret or proclaim it, lo! He is Knower of all that is in the breasts (of men). 13 Should He not know what He created? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. 14
