Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, 11 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 in an exalted garden 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 Nor any food save filth 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
