The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 you strive in various ways. 4 As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) 5 And affirms goodness, 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
