Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish! May he too perish! 1 His wealth did not avail him, nor his acquisitions. 2 Surely, he will be cast into a Flaming Fire 3 And his wife, the wood-carrier, 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
