When the messengers came to Lot and his family, 61 He said, “You are an unfamiliar people.” 62 They said, “In fact we have brought to you the matter which these people doubted.” 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 Depart with your family in a part of the night and walk behind them and let none of you turn round. Go to a place where you are commanded' 65 We issued this command to him, for they were going to be destroyed in the morning. 66 Then came the people of the city, exulting at the news. 67 Said Lot: "These are my guests; do not put me to shame, 68 And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not! 69 They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?" 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 By your life, they wandered on in their wild intoxication 72 and the Cry seized them at the sunrise, 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 Verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 75 for, behold, those [towns] stood by a road that still exists. 76 Surely! Therein is indeed a sign for the believers. 77 The people of the Wood were also surely wrongdoers. 78 On them, too, We took vengeance, and they are both on a clear roadway. 79
