'Lord' said Moses, 'expand my chest, 25 And ease for me my task 26 And loose a knot from my tongue, 27 (That) they may understand my word; 28 "And appoint for me a helper from my family, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 by him confirm my strength, 31 and let him share my task 32 so that we may glorify You much 33 and remember You abundantly. 34 “Indeed You see us.” 35 He said, “O Moosa, you have been granted your prayer.” 36 We had already shown you favor 37 When We inspired to your mother what We inspired, 38 [Saying], 'Cast him into the chest and cast it into the river, and the river will throw it onto the bank; there will take him an enemy to Me and an enemy to him.' And I bestowed upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under My eye. 39 Then your sister followed you, and said (to the people who had retrieved the child): 'Should I guide you to a person who can nurse him?' We thus brought you back to your mother that her heart may be cheered, and she may not grieve. (Remember) when you killed a man We saved you from anguish; and tested and steeled you (in other ways). Afterwards you sojourned for several years with the people of Midian; then you came up to the measure, 40 I have chosen you for My service. 41 go therefore, thou and thy brother; with My signs, and neglect not to remember Me. 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has waxed insolent; 43 And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." 44 The two [brothers] said: "O our Sustainer! Verily, we fear lest he act hastily with regard to us, or lest he [continue to] transgress all bounds of equity." 45 He replied: 'Have no fear I shall be with you, both hearing and seeing. 46 Go, then; you two unto him and say, 'Behold, we are apostles sent by thy Sustainer: let, then, the children of Israel go with us, and cause them not to suffer [any longer]. We have now come unto thee with a message from thy Sustainer; and [know that His] peace shall be [only] on those who follow [His] guidance: 47 Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " 48 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Who then, O Musa (Moses), is the Lord of you two?" 49 He replied: "Our Sustainer is He who gives unto every thing [that exists] its true nature and form, and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment]. 50 He said: then what happened to the former generations? 51 Moses said: "Its knowledge is with my Lord, recorded in the Book. My Lord does not err, nor does He forget." 52 Who made the earth for you an expanse and made for you therein paths and sent down water from the cloud; then thereby We have brought forth many species of various herbs. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle: verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 54
