The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few of later ages, 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 Reclining face to face. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 and fair maidens with large, lustrous eyes 22 like hidden pearls, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another. 29 and spreading shade 30 and waters gushing, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 and upraised couches. 34 Lo! We have created them a (new) creation 35 We have made them virgins, 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 for those on the Right, 38
