The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [angels] lined up in rows 1 And those who restrain by reprimanding, 2 Then those who recite, being mindful, 3 that your Lord is the only Lord. 4 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of whatever lies between the two, the Lord of the Easts. 5 Surely We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment, the stars, 6 and guarded it against all rebellious devils: 7 These satans cannot listen to what transpires in the High Council for they are pelted away from every side 8 driven away, and will suffer eternal punishment. 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealing and they are pursued by a flaming fire of piercing brightness. 10 Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay! 11 Aye! thou marvellest, and they scoff. 12 They pay no attention when they are reminded 13 When they are shown a sign, they scoff at it 14 And say, "This is nothing but evident sorcery! 15 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, how can we be raised again, 16 “And also our forefathers?” 17 Say (O Muhammad): Ye, in truth; and ye will be brought low. 18 So that is just a single jolt, thereupon they will begin staring. 19 And will say, “O our misfortune!” It will be said to them, “This is the Day of Justice.” 20 This is the Day of Judgment in which you disbelieved. 21
