Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
