The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
