The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
