O believers, obey God and His Messenger, and do not turn away from him when you hear (him speak); 20 And do not be like those who say, "We have heard," while they do not hear. 21 ۞ Verily! The worst of (moving) living creatures with Allah are the deaf and the dumb, those who understand not (i.e. the disbelievers). 22 Had Allah known any good in them, He would have made them hear. And if He had made them hear, they would [still] have turned away, while they were refusing. 23 Believers, respond to Allah and the Messenger when he calls you to that which revives you. Know that Allah is between the person and his heart, and that toHim you shall all be gathered. 24 And fear a trial which shall surely not smite in particular the evildoers among you; and know that God is terrible in retribution. 25 And remember when you were few, deemed weak in the land, fearing lest people might carry you off by force, but He sheltered you and strengthened you with His aid and gave you of the good things that you may give thanks. 26 O you who have believed, do not betray Allah and the Messenger or betray your trusts while you know [the consequence]. 27 And know that your riches and your children are but a temptation, and that verily Allah: with Him is a mighty hire. 28
