Jinns (Al-Jinn)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad SAW): "It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of jinns listened (to this Quran). They said: 'Verily! We have heard a wonderful Recital (this Quran)! 1 which guides to the right path; so we have believed in it and we will not associate anyone with our Lord, 2 and that “He – exalted be His Majesty – has not taken to Himself either a wife or a son”; 3 'There were some foolish ones among us, who used to utter extravagant lies against Allah; 4 We had in fact thought that men and jinns would never speak a lie about God, 5 And indeed (O Muhammad) individuals of humankind used to invoke the protection of individuals of the jinn, so that they increased them in revolt against Allah); 6 and they thought, even as you also thought, that God would never raise up anyone. 7 And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. 8 And that we used to sit in some of the sitting-places thereof to steal a hearing, but he who would (try to) listen now would find a flame lying in wait for him: 9 and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; 10 And some of us are the righteous, and some of us are otherwise; we are sects differing. 11 "'And withal, we have come to know that we can never elude God [while we live] on earth, and that we can never elude Him by escaping [from life]. 12 And that when we heard the guidance, we believed in it; so whoever believes in his Lord, he should neither fear loss nor being overtaken (by disgrace): 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 And as for the deviators, for Hell they shall be fuel. 15 [KNOW,] THEN, that if they [who have heard Our call] keep firmly to the [right] path, We shall certainly shower them with blessings abundant, 16 That We might try them thereby. And whosoever turns away from the Reminder of his Lord (i.e. this Quran, and practice not its laws and orders), He will cause him to enter in a severe torment (i.e. Hell). 17 And the mosques are for Allah (Alone), so invoke not anyone along with Allah. 18 ‘And that when Allah’s bondman stood up to worship Him, the jinns had almost crowded upon him.’” 19
