The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise and warn! 2 and magnify the glory of your Lord, 3 And your clothing purify 4 Pollution shun! 5 And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase, 6 be patient unto your Lord. 7 When the Horn is blown, 8 that day will be a harsh day, 9 For the unbelievers, anything but easy. 10 Leave him to Me, the one whom I created single. 11 And gave him vast wealth. 12 and sons to be by his side, 13 To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 By no means! He has been stubbornly hostile to Our revelation: 16 Anon I shall afflict him with a fearful woe. 17 Indeed, he thought and deliberated. 18 May he be accursed, how he planned! 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 Then he looked around, 21 And frowned and puckered his brow, 22 then he retreated and grew proud 23 Then he said: This is naught but enchantment, narrated (from others); 24 'this is nothing but mortal speech.' 25 Soon I will cast him into hell. 26 What will let you know what the Scorching is like! 27 It neither leaves, nor spares. 28 Darkening and changing the colour of man! 29 Over it are nineteen (angels as guardians and keepers of Hell). 30 And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire, and We have fixed their number (19) only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may arrive at a certainty [that this Quran is the truth as it agrees with their Books i.e. their number (19) is written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and the believers may increase in Faith (as this Quran is the truth) and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Scripture and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) and the disbelievers may say: "What Allah intends by this (curious) example?" Thus Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind. 31
