And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 or can they benefit or harm you?" 73 They said: Nay, but we found our fathers acting on this wise. 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me. 78 He who gives me food and drink; 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 And He Who will cause me to die, then give me life; 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 “And forgive my father* – he is indeed astray.” (His paternal uncle) 86 And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; 87 The day on which property will not avail, nor sons 88 Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy)]. 89 And Paradise will be brought close for the pious. 90 And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators, 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 and the army of satan will all be thrown headlong into hell. 95 They shall say while they contend therein: 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 When we equalled you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 "'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt. 99 and we have no intercessors now, 100 and no sincere friend. 101 Were there for us a return, we would be of the believers. 102 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 103 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 104
