Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha Mim 1 I call to witness the lucent Book, 2 behold, We have caused it to be a discourse in the Arabic tongue, so that you might encompass it with your reason. 3 And the Qur’an is undoubtedly, in the Original Book with Us, surely the exalted, full of wisdom. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you because you are a sinful nation? 5 How many a prophet did We send among the men of old! 6 And there came not to them a prophet but they mocked at him. 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier than these; such was the example of the earlier peoples. 8 And if you should ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "They were created by the Exalted in Might, the Knowing." 9 [The one] who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided 10 And He Who sends down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We raise to life thereby a dead country, even thus shall you be brought forth; 11 And He it is who has created all opposites. And He [it is who] has provided for you all those ships and animals whereon you ride, 12 so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, "Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves. 13 And verily unto our Lord we are to return. 14 Yet they have made some of His servants a part of Him. Indeed man is most evidently thankless. 15
