Wherefore admonish thou! thou art not, by the grace of thy Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or do they say:- "A Poet! we await for him some calamity (hatched) by Time!" 30 Say: 'Await! I shall be awaiting with you.' 31 Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? 32 Or do they say, "He fabricated the (Message)"? Nay, they have no faith! 33 Let them then produce a recital like unto it,- If (it be) they speak the truth! 34 [Or do they deny the existence of God?] Have they themselves been created without anything [that might have caused their creation]? or were they, perchance, their own creators? 35 Or is it they who created the heavens and the earth? No; the truth is that they lack sure faith. 36 Or are the Treasures of thy Lord with them, or are they the managers (of affairs)? 37 Or do they have a ladder whereon they can climb and attempt to listen (to what is transpiring in the Higher Realm)? Then, let any of them who has listened to it produce a clear proof of it. 38 Or does Allah have daughters whereas you have sons? 39 Or is it that thou dost ask for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt?- 40 Or have they the unseen so that they write (it) down? 41 Or desire they to outwit? The unbelievers, they are the outwitted. 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Glory be to Allah from what they set up (with Him). 43 Even if they were to see a part of the heavens falling down upon them, they would say, "It is only dense cloud". 44 Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. 45 the day when their guile shall avail them naught, and they shall not be helped. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment besides this: But most of them understand not. 47 And wait patiently for the judgment of your Lord, for surely you are before Our eyes, and sing the praise of your Lord when you rise; 48 And in the night also hallow Him, and at the setting of the stars. 49
