Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ HALLOWED be He in whose hand all dominion rests, since He has the power to will anything: 1 [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving - 2 Who created the seven heavens one upon another. You will see no incongruity in the Merciful One's creation. Turn your vision again, can you see any flaw? 3 Then lift your gaze again, your gaze will return towards you, unsuccessful and weak. 4 We have adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them a means to drive away the satans. We have prepared for them the chastisement of the Blazing Fire. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there awaits the punishment of Gehenna (Hell) an evil arrival! 6 When they are cast into it they shall hear it sighing, while it boils 7 Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?" 8 They will say: yea! surely there came a warner unto us, but we belied, and said: God hath not sent down aught, we are naught but in a great error. 9 And they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze." 10 And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze. 11 Verily! Those who fear their Lord unseen (i.e. they do not see Him, nor His Punishment in the Hereafter, etc.), theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward (i.e. Paradise). 12 Whether you conceal what you say or reveal it, God knows best all that the hearts contain. 13 Does He not know, Who created? And He is the Knower of the subtleties, the Aware. 14
