The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
