Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

The excessive gathering (of increase and boasting) occupied you (from worshipping and obeying) 1 till you reached the grave. 2 Nay! you shall soon know, 3 nay, again, you shall soon come to know. 4 Lo! would that ye knew now with the surety of knowledge! 5 You should most certainly have seen the hell; 6 again, you shall most certainly end up seeing it with absolute certainty. 7 Then, on that Day, ye shall surely be asked of the delights. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
