Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We saved him and his household from the great distress, 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the others 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 All the people turned away from him 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What ails you, that you speak not?' 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, 95 when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 Most surely this is a manifest trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaque (Isaac) a Prophet from the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
