And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment - 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 And sent them tokens to bring out the best in them. 33 Verily, these (Quraish) people are saying: 34 "There is no dying for us but once; and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 We did not idly create the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them; 38 We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand. 39 Verily the Day of Distinction is the term appointed for all of them. 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 Save those on whom Allah will have mercy. Verily He! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
